Neuse River Equine Hospital offers twenty-four-hour emergency service. One of our veterinarians is always available for after-hours, weekend and holiday emergencies.

Our most common emergencies are trauma, colics, lacerations, grain overloads, swollen or injured eyes (often emergencies in the horse) and laminitis or founder.

Many times emergencies can be avoided with management and nutritional recommendations from our doctors. With a good doctor-patient-owner relationship a large number of minor emergencies can be handled with just a phone consultation. But if there is any question about the severity of the problem we will gladly come to see your horse or you can haul them to our facility depending on the circumstances.

We do charge an after-hours emergency fee along with the other charges normally incurred for diagnosis and treatment.
